Did you know that the leek has been associated with Wales for hundreds of years? It is thought that the patron saint of Wales, St David, told Welsh soldiers to wear the leek on their helmets, so they could better spot each other when in battle against the Saxons who wore similar armour… well, that’s one way to stand out!

To mark this day, Welsh people around the world wear one or both of Wales's national emblems – a daffodil and a leek.

We love a daffodil, so in the spirit of St David’s Day every shopper who visits Llangorse community shop will receive a bunch of daffs courtesy of Silver Assist Homecare.

The Masterpiece below was created by Ella, one of our Carers talented children. #Impressive
